Torasho takes pride in serving you the best of steaks, crabs, beers, craft beers and of course, ramen. Their chance encounter on their trip to Japan six years ago was a game-changer for both parties. Tora shared, \u201cWe had five to six meals a day, for ten days, and we both thought, wow, this guy can keep up with me.\u201d Tora jokingly mentions, \u201cWe always eat to the point where our friends don\u2019t want to come with us. We order too much.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>I just love food so much, so why not make use of it?<\/p><cite>Tora, Co-owner of Torasho<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" src=\"https:\/\/feeds.oddle.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/funny.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16140\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>When it comes to joking around and having fun, the duo at Torasho does it best. They share how their best ideas are built out of the jokes and fun times they have together. There, they wondered if they could both do something together. Tora shared, \u201cWhen I finished my National Service, I told Sho, why not we open a store here?\u201d As a testimony to their love for food, there came the birth of Torasho.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-torasho-s-specialities-where-cultures-collide\"><strong>Torasho\u2019s specialities, where cultures collide<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Torasho is more than just your ordinary bar, one that exudes diversity, the coming together of different cultures.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" src=\"https:\/\/feeds.oddle.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/dipping.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16139\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Sit back and tuck into Torasho\u2019s ultimate bestseller, <a href=\"https:\/\/torasho.oddle.me\/en_SG\/product\/8a818c0279b201790179b2a6287246b9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tsukemen<\/a> ($14). <em>Tsukemen<\/em> directly translates to \u201cdipping ramen\u201d, where the noodles are to be eaten after being dipped in a separate bowl of broth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>We are probably the only ramen shop to have customers buying Tsukemen more than Tonkatsu ramen!<\/p><cite>Sho, Co-owner of Torasho<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" src=\"https:\/\/feeds.oddle.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ezgif.com-gif-maker-1-4.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16148\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Its Tsukemen broth is a mixture between Tonkatsu broth and seafood, thick and full of flavour. Savour it alongside its cold, thick noodles which lies on the hard and chewy side, where some might say, \u201cSo QQ!\u201d. It also comes with Torasho&#8217;s signature pork, nicely charred and tender.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" src=\"https:\/\/feeds.oddle.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/donabe.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16141\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Torasho\u2019s signature <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/torasho.oddle.me\/en_SG\/product\/8a8194ca79b213e50179b29fe8673c02\" target=\"_blank\">Stupid Donabe<\/a> ($128) is simply a sight to behold. It is simply spectacular and features an impressive array of ingredients. The Donabe is filled with Japanese rice cooked with dashi and topped with generous Wagyu Tenderloin, Uni, Ikura, King Crab, Onsen Egg. The flavours come together perfectly, truly a dish for every occasion.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" src=\"https:\/\/feeds.oddle.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/unagi.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16144\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Torasho\u2019s appetizers cannot be missed. Dig into their unique spin of a Taco, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/torasho.oddle.me\/en_SG\/product\/8a8194ca79b213e50179b2a9dd5e4027\" target=\"_blank\">Unagi Taco<\/a> ($15),&nbsp; one that encompasses different cultures. Tora shared, \u201cWe\u2019ve got the Papadum from India, topped with Taramasalata at the bottom, Unagi Karage from Japan, and Som Tum from Thailand.\u201d It is a genius creation by Sho, a blend of crunchiness and a slight tanginess.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" src=\"https:\/\/feeds.oddle.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/uni.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16145\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>They say looks may be deceiving, and it is true in the case of Torasho\u2019s Uni Pillow ($15). While this dish may seem small, it is a mouthful of bliss. It features a sheet of nori tempura, with generous Uni toppings on top, bursting with umami and sweet, refreshing notes. \u201cIt\u2019s like an explosion, an indescribable taste,\u201d Tora shares. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-now\"><strong>\u201cWhat now?\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" src=\"https:\/\/feeds.oddle.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/salt.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16143\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Although hard to believe, Torasho was opened in the middle of a pandemic in January 2020. A month after their opening, a lockdown was announced. The same thing occurred when they opened their second outlet at Takashimaya. The timing couldn\u2019t have been worse, but the duo\u2019s optimism is both contagious yet inspiring.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>There will always be challenges, (and) when it happens, we just have to keep going.<\/p><cite>Tora, Co-owner of Torasho<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s also their mentality of \u201cWhat now?\u201d that have led them to where they are. Tora shared, \u201cWe got through everything the same way, thinking, what now? what can we do?\u201d Sho added, \u201cNo point in stressing out because that\u2019s not going to do anything.
