'The chashu, oh the chashu. At Ippudo, the Shiromaru Motoaji ($15) comes with a gorgeous piece of rosu chashu (pork loin). The Hakata-style noodles are springy and delightful, while the broth is refreshing and very addictive. It is one of those moments where you find it hard to explain how something so simple can taste so delicious.'
'Both noodles are hot-sellers, where the former features a full-bodied tonkotsu broth blended with miso paste and garlic oil. The Shiromaru, on the other hand, is a classic Hakata-style ramen, boasting a delicate pork bone broth that’s light and easy to drink. Both dishes come with thin, straight noodles that are topped with pork belly, pork loin, and black fungus.'

'The Shiromaru Motoaji is one of the 2 signature Ramen available at Ippudo and it is characterised by the white bowl. The other Ramen is the Akamaru Shinaji ($15) which is served in a red bowl. The difference is the addition of blended miso paste and garlic oil in the latter which I think will add a stronger taste to the soup. Overall, it was a good meal at Hakata Ippudo Ramen!'
