1. Alleybar

Situated at Peranakan Place, Alleybar‘s Signature Cocktails (from $25 each) offer a truly unique experience. Have a taste of their Kaya King Mai Tai, which boasts kaya fat washed Matusalem rum, kaffir & pineapple orgeat syrup, and more. The Unseen Sour elevates well-known whiskey sour with a touch of Merlot and fruity notes. Alleybar also offers classic cocktails, priced at $16 each during Happy Hours and $20 at other times.

2. Amy’s Wine Bar

An impressive wine range awaits you at Amy’s Wine Bar. Brought to you by the team behind Two Men Bagel House, you’ll get to pair the best of wines with great food here. Be sure to order up a portion of their fresh Irish Oysters. The dish comes with a cucumber vinegar dressing, pumpkin hot sauce, and chive oil.

3. Chug Chug

Down your beers and soju at Chug Chug, which offers a wide selection of draught beers, also offered in pints or towers for sharing. Try Meantime Pale Ale (from $12 per pint, $70 per tower), which uses a mixture of hops to provide a fragrant, citrus taste. Alternatively, get bottled beers like the Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc (from $10 per bottle, and $40 for 5). Soju brands Chorong, Chuga, and Jinro are available as well. Paired with food and music, you’ll surely have a great evening at Chug Chug with your friends.

Where: 114 Tanjong Pagar Road, Singapore 088529

4. Homeground Grill and Bar

With delicious food and an array of alcohol selections, spend your evening at Homeground Grill & Bar, located along Serangoon Road. Start off with the classic or lychee Mojito Pitcher (from $35), good for 3 people. Next, explore their popular cocktails like Smoky Bastard (from $17), which serves up rum mixed with apple, tonic, and smoked with cinnamon. You could also return to familiar territory with ice-cold beers like Asahi or Erdinger.

5. Hopscotch

One of the must-try bars in Singapore where you can get a delectable local spin on fancy cocktails is Hopscotch, which has two outlets in Singapore. Each cocktail is uniquely inspired: the Milo Medley (from $23) sees a beautiful harmony of milo and several liqueurs, re-packaging the country’s favourite beverage. Engage bartenders to craft a ‘bespoke’ cocktail, based on your personal preferences by customising your alcohol strength and taste for that Instagrammable shot of your creation.

Where: 45 Malan Road, Singapore, 109455 (Gillman Barracks), or 15 Stamford Road, #01-83, Singapore, 178906 (Capitol)

6. Tess Bar & Kitchen

Though we are able to travel now, not every country is safe or accessible. With Tess Bar & Kitchen‘s innovative cocktails, thankfully, our taste buds can travel the globe. Enter and you’ll see their large shelf of spirits. Interesting cocktails include Snorkeling in Boracay (from $21), for a delicious mix of daiquiri, rum, banana liqueur, and citrus fruits. If you miss Japan, try their Para Para Sakura (from $21), combining highball, vodka, sake, cherry blossom, and London Essence tonic. Tess also offers shots in sets of 3 (from $18), on top of their extensive list of spirits, beers, and wines. Come experiment at this lovely bar the next time you’re out with your best buddies.
