Inspired by authentic traditions and modern techniques, Amo Restaurant’s labour of love is showcased in the unique yet authentic Italian food they offer, drawing the best culinary influences from all parts of Italy. They serve homemade and artisanal pastas, such as the Fettuccine with Beef Shank ($29.95), with mushrooms and orange salmoriglio. Indulge in their generous portions of meats and pasta with friends and family, for wallet-friendly prices! The Moonshine Carbonara ($8.90) is their rendition of the moonshine hor fun, with a runny yolk in a nest of creamy spaghetti. You could also get the ChopS! Signature Pink Salmon Pasta ($9.90), the Grilled Chicken Aglio Olio ($7.90) or the Seafood Marinara ($8.90).
Cicheti offers a distinctive perspective on Italian cuisine with a hint of regional flavours. It’s native to Venetian wine bars, that fuse traditional Italian heritage with distinct Mediterranean influences. The Tonnarelli Nero ($30) is made from squid-ink infused dough, doused in a rich seafood essence and topped with lump crab meat, bird’s eye chilli and roasted datterini tomatoes. Go for other signatures like the Casarecce ($30) for guanciale, Italian cured meat made from pork jowl or cheeks. The Paccheri ($30) to satisfies carnivories with their fill of pulled beef cheeks; likewise for Vegetarians with the green forest mushroom and truffle ricotta Gnocchi ($28).
Meaning “grandmother” in Italian, La Nonna is the perfect choice for a no-frills, classic, quality Italian affair. Created to capture the soul of authentic Italian cooking, this restaurant uses a traditional bronze oven in their cooking process. My personal favourite is the Linguine Al Granchio ($31), featuring linguine pasta coated with tomato cream sauce, fresh crab meat and topped with basil. Other highlights include Ravioli Della Nonna ($32), a lobster ravioli with arrabbiata sauce and fresh herbs. I’m certainly drooling if you aren’t!
Yet another concept by the popular Les Amis group! LINO Pasta Bar is a contemporary restaurant that focuses solely on curating pasta dishes. The Cold Angel Hair Pasta ($21) features al dente angel hair pasta, with yuzu, salted seaweed and liberal amounts of ikura for the perfect umami kick.
Other signature pastas include the Mafaldo Cacio E Pepe ($17), the Mentaiko Chittara ($20) and the Rigatoni Oxtail ($22). They even offer a set meal of Pasta Experience for Two ($45), if you can’t decide which creation to try.
Now this is one pasta delivery spot that most of us definitely know. Pastamania is a household name, never failing to satisfy cravings with affordable, hearty classics and specially crafted fusion delights. With a spread of over 25 pasta dishes and more, there’s plenty of choices for the family. Dive into their Laksa Seafood Pasta ($13.50), a unique creation of prawns and mussels in a zesty laksa sauce. Try their novelty Salted Egg Chicken Pasta ($13.50), or go for classics like the Vongole Pasta ($12.50) and the Al Funghi Pasta ($10.50).
Pasta Bar is truly an authentic Italian experience you don’t want to miss out on. 11 different dough recipes, handmade daily using a variety of semolina and ‘00’ flours combined with whole egg, egg yolks and water. Drawing inspiration from the varied regions of Italy, the diverse flavours represented in the spread of pasta served here will leave you wanting more. The Tagliolini ($42) is perfectly al dente, coated in decadent sea urchin cream and topped with tobiko and chives for an umami kick. The Garganelli Cacio e Pepe ($29) is sprinkled with generous amounts of pecorino, parmigiano and black pepper. Mmm. If you’re looking to indulge, the Truffle Fettuccini ($46) comes with truffle butter, freshly-shaved black truffle and parmigiano.
At Publico Pasta Bar, pasta is the main attraction. Being the sister of multi-award-winning Publico Restaurant, this pasta bar aims to add its own cheeky spin to classic Italian food. You won’t regret the Signature Beef Lasagne ($18.50), with layers of perfectly seasoned ground beef in a rich tomato and bechamel sauce, sandwiched between slices of lasagne. The Spicy Venetian Crab Pasta ($22) is a must-try along with Rustic Beef Bolognese ($16.50) and the Aglio e Olio ($14.50).
A family-run business through and through, Ristorante Da Valentino has made a name for itself in Singapore since 2005. Managed by Chef Valentino and his family, this cosy restaurant freshly imports seasonal items from Italy, serving up classic Italian fare with Chef’s own personal touch. Their signature dish is the Spaghetti Truffle Beef Sauce, Thin-Sliced Beef, Mushroom & Poached Egg ($42.90). Truly an explosion of savoury flavours you won’t be able to get enough of. Another hit is the Spaghetti Con Gamberi Panna Pomodoro ($38.90), featuring spaghetti with tiger prawns in their famous pink sauce, or the Ink Fettucine Al Granchio ($35.90) which comes with crabmeat and chilli in creamy tomato sauce.
A fusion of Italian and Japanese cuisine, Ristorante Luka puts their own spin on all your favourite Italian dishes. Helmed by Japanese Chef Takashi Okuno, this restaurant won’t disappoint. The enticing salmon-pink Mentaiko & Ikura ($24), topped with generous amounts of ikura, is a no-brainer for lovers of cod roe. The Ikasumi ($24) features classic squid ink, while the Gnocchi Formaggi ($24) combines the doughy goodness of gnocchi with the richness of four cheeses. What’s not to love?
Serving up healthy homemade Italian fare since 2011, Sapore Italian Restaurant is the first Italian lifestyle café bar inspired by the history and tradition of Italian bar culture. All their pasta dishes are made with Italian-sourced durum wheat semolina pasta and prepared with housemade vegetable stock, with wholewheat options upon request. The Spaghetti Frutti Di Mare ($19.69) is a seafood lover’s dream. For safer options, go for the Spaghetti Alla Carbonara ($17.49) or Fusilli Alla Pesto Genovese ($17.49). Like its name suggests, Super Dario Lasagne is the authority when it comes to quality, homemade lasagne. A dish well-loved by adults and children alike, the signature lasagne promises the same authentic taste with innovative flavours to suit all palates. The Super Dario Plus ($14.90) comes with beef, mushrooms, and scamorza (smoked cheese), while the Super Dario Go! ($15.90) comes with beef and gorgonzola. For alternative meat options, they also have the Pixel ($15.40). Savour lamb and ricotta, or chicken and pecorino with the Luigi Extra ($13.90), and other vegetarian options.
The Marmalade Pantry has been around since 1999, a contemporary yet welcoming bistro cafe for everyone to enjoy. Serving up a spread of sweet and savoury dishes, rest assured that you’ll be spoilt for choice with Marmalade at Home. One of their signatures is The Marmalade Mac & Cheese ($25). Expect a cheesy combination of parmesan, truffle butter and a hint of blue cheese. Go for the Seared Scallop and Prawn ($29), the Spicy Crabmeat ($28) or the Mushroom Risotto ($26).
