I’m a firm believer that pizza is one of the most delicious party foods there is out there. Fortunately, Peperoni Pizzeria makes incredibly ginormous pizzas that go up to 21 inches wide; you can therefore simply choose the size that’s perfect for your party. While meat lovers will definitely appreciate their meaty Carne (from $24.60), you also can’t go wrong with a classic Margherita ($21.40), or Quattro Formaggi ($24.60). 8. Roland Restaurant
An institution like Roland Restaurant needs no introduction. Known as the creator of Chilli Crab in Singapore, they have been serving their signature Chilli Crabs ($98 for 2x500g) since 1956 when it was just an improvised recipe. Over the years, they’ve perfected their recipe and are now popular for other seafood dishes too. You can look forward to trying their Black Sauce Prawns ($34 for 6pcs) and Crispy Baby Squids ($15), among others. The restaurant has a typical old-school Chinese banquet setting that will certainly get you reminiscing the past. It’s also located right next to East Coast Park, so it’s definitely wise to make a reservation and get ahead of the potential evening crowds.
9. Sum Kee
If you’re running out of fancy ideas for your New Year’s Eve dinner, a good ol’ zi char meal always hits the spot. With two outlets in Singapore, Sum Kee serves up quality zi char dishes that Singaporeans love and enjoy. Think Curry Fish Head ($38), salted egg Ultraman Chicken (from $16) and Braised London Duck (from $32). That said, you might want to reserve a table in advance, though. Their original Telok Blangah restaurant continues to draw loyal and old customers from all over the country; on the other hand, their newer Jurong outlet boasts a fully air-conditioned interior, so it’s bound to be a popular spot.

10. Swatow Seafood Restaurant
Swatow Seafood Restaurant is a Chinese restaurant famous for not only its dim sum selection but also Teochew delicacies. For a quack-ing good time in 2022, try their Teochew Braised Sliced Duck ($17.50) or Signature Roasted Duck with Black Truffle (from $18). The BBQ Honey Pork Bun ($4.20) and Golden Custard Bun ($4.20) from their dim sum selection are also sure to bring you tons of sweetness and prosperity in the new year. 12. Victor’s Kitchen
Victor’s Kitchen is known for their simple yet delicious handmade dim sum. Some of their best-sellers include Char Siew “Bo Lo” Butter Buns ($5.80 for 2pcs) and Tasty Queen Size Siew Mai ($5.50 for 4pcs). Of course, a dim sum meal isn’t complete without some refreshing HK Summer Iced Milk Tea ($3.50) too. Despite opening their second outlet in Chinatown, the first being in Bugis, trying to get a table during lunch hours at either outlet is especially difficult. You will definitely want to make a reservation for this authentic Hong Kong dim sum experience.
