A burger might seem like a glorified sandwich however, it is anything but that. The burger requires careful construction and a delicate balance of elements such that it’s satisfaction guaranteed in every bite. A toasty bun, crisp lettuce and a juicy patty are all but building blocks of a truly fantastic burger. After all, there is nothing like chomping down on a burger after an intense spinning class. Not all burgers are created equal and these 12 mouthwatering burger delivery options have found that tasty sweet spot and are worth all the calories.

1. Three Buns

I’m not one usually for spin-offs but seeing as Three Buns is born out of all the good stuff of Potato Head, it has to be good. At Three Buns you can find the same great selection of burgers that will require you to leave your diet at the door.

Cheeky Chic (Spicy) ($16)
Four Floors ($24)

At Three Buns, it’s a go big or go home affair. Sure, the Cheeky Chic (Spicy) ($16) would satisfy, with succulent twice-cooked free-range Sakura boneless chicken thick slathered with den miso mayo, Big Poppa’s hot sauce BBQ ketchup—a solid choice indeed.

For the adventurous, I’d reckon the Four Floors ($24) would make the night an unforgettable one. Stacked high with two chunky patties of Tasmanian vintage beef patties, stuffed with fried onions and overflowing with so much cheddar cheese you could shed a tear.

2. MeatSmith

The guys behind MeatSmith are the same folks that opened the award-winning Burnt Ends, so there’s no doubt the food is top-notch here. Not to mention, for those who speak barbecue you’re in luck.

MeatSmith is all about that American barbecue, so think brisket, ribs and pastrami for starters. These meats are prepared low and slow in their smokers so the flavours have all that time to develop.

Pastrami Sandwich ($22)

Hold on, it gets better. These fantastic meats are then transformed into mouthwatering burgers that will leave you wanting seconds. One that is not be missed has to be Pastrami Sandwich ($22). With tender, salty pastrami slices tempered with sharp sauerkraut and quelled with buttery Emmental cheese. It’s a perfect bite if I do say so myself.

3. Burger & Lobster

You remember the frenzy Burger & Lobster caused when it was announced it would be hitting out shores soon. While the spotlight was on those glorious and buttery Original Lobster Rolls ($28), we need to pay more attention to the other half of Burger & Lobster.

The Mayfair ($14 ala carte, $20 combo)

Now, Burger & Lobster has a good selection of burgers but there’s one that takes center stage. The Mayfair ($14 ala carte, $20 combo) has all eyes on them. Named after their first-ever restaurant in London, this magnificent beauty features a Nebraskan beef patty along with the usual suspects of lettuce and tomato before being topped off with B & L’s secret sauce.

Simple and to the point, this burger is simplicity at its best. If you would like to go ham and the B & L Beast Burger ($23) is the best of both worlds with the same Nebraskan beef patty along with succulent chunks of lobster and finished with brie slices. It’s a beast, alright.

4. Potato Head

Potato Head needs no introduction. Located beside Three Buns, the burger bistro & bar feature the same range of burgers. Dive into a hunky stack with the Truff Ryder ($24) or go green with the Omni Wan Kenobi (Vegetarian) ($15). These hunky stacks survive the islandwide delivery journey fo’ sho’.

5. Wildfire Burgers

Wildfire Burgers had nothing short of an illustrious start, securing the title for Asia’s Best Burger within 12 months of opening. Here’s more good news: they now have a refreshed menu, with their signature burgers all grilled to order in the double-ventilated INKA oven and fired with Japanese Binchotan charcoal. While their Classic 001 Cheeseburger (from $10) is a sure-win, you’re also sure to love their Truffled Mushroom Burger (from $13) and their Shabu Burger (from $14), which is doused in a yakiniku sauce.

6. Love Handle Burgers (closed)

Cheeseburger ($12.50)

If you decide to go plant-based for your burger delivery order and need more options besides VeganBurg, Love Handle Burger‘s classic all-American burger menu is sure to do the trick.  All their patties are made with 100% Impossible Meat so it looks and tastes like a real beef burger sans the extra fat. Have your pick from the Cheeseburger ($12.50), Mushroom Cheese ($17) to the Fillet-O-Fishless ($16.50). These tantalising options might be vegan but they pack a whole of flavour and hey, you might be a convert after this.

The world is your burger at Love Handle Burgers.

7. The Social Outcast

Outcast Possible Meats ($23)

The Social Outcast is anything but its namesake. This popular burger joint is famous for its high-quality woodfire smoked and charcoal-grilled burgers. You would think everything lies in the meat patty. While that is important, how the patty is cooked gives the burger that tiny oomph from a good burger to a great burger.

For meat-lovers that are bonafide carnivores, the Outcast Possible Meats ($23) is sure to satiate that craving. A beautiful mess of a burger, with a thick charcoal-grilled beef patty, paired with gorgeous woodfired smoked lamb chunks—this is a combination you never knew you needed. Then, it’s carpeted with a liberal amount of chimichurri and cradled between two buttery brioche buns. Sinful and oh-so-indulgent, there are no ragrets here. That combination alone is enough to make anyone forget they ever knew salads.

8. PS. Cafe

P.S Burger ($32.11)

You would think aside from the famous (and a little overpriced) truffle fries and brunch fare, PS. Cafe would be done at that but, lo and behold they have another trick up their sleeves. While there are classic crowd-pleasers like the P.S Burger ($32.11), they’ve also got the PS. Impossible Burger ($32.11) that will promise a good time. With its vintage cheddar, wilted spinach, and crisp onion bits, this vegetarian burger is one for the masses. Burger delivery? Sign me up.

9. Dream Shop

Serving up bespoke crafted burgers inspired by his childhood memories and Singapore’s vibrant hawker scene, is Chef Jeremy Nguee’s Dream Shop. Nothing is run-of-the-mill at this online exclusive store. For one, the classic Smoked Cheeseburger ($10) is made from butter-smoked, 100% Australian Grassfed Beef, marinated to perfection with a secret coffee and Sarawak pepper rub. Impressive!

And who doesn’t love burgers with local flavours that take center stage? Chef serves up Smoked Burgers topped with Peranakan-style Buah Keluak Rich Sauce ($13), the Raya’s Rendang ($13) with a spice-rich rendang rempah, as well as a panko-coated Crispy Berempah Chicken ($13) perfected with curry mayo and special papaya pickles.

10. VeganBurg

Avocado Beetroot Burger ($11.90)

I know, can a vegan burger ever taste as good as a normal beef burger? At VeganBurg, they can. Sure, I was skeptical at first. However, that quickly changed once I had a bite of their winning burgers. Their GMO-free plant protein patties mimic the texture of meat and let me tell you, I wasn’t missing a thing. For first-timer, I would suggest going for one of their best-sellers, the Avocado Beetroot Burger ($11.90). Bright green wedges of avocado lie atop shredded beetroot with a crunchy plant-protein patty. You’ll be floored by the flavour and you feel ten times lighter after chomping down on one of these.

In fact, I would recommend you pair this with some of their Smoked Franks (from $5.90) to make it a complete meal.

11. Wok In Burger

Wok In Burger is the playful scion of seafood zi char institution Keng Eng Kee. Though I’m not one for spin-offs of any kind, Wok In Burger promises the taste of zi char in a handy burger.

Salted Egg Soft Shell Crab Burger ($16.80)

A burger that is sure to pander to all our salted egg proclivities has to be the Salted Egg Soft Shell Crab Burger ($16.80). It’s everything you need in a single bite: a crispy softshell crab that’s drenched in rich and savoury salted egg sauce, it’s one for salted egg fans.

For ardent fans of Keng Eng Kee, then the Coffee Pork Burger ($11.80) features their signature sticky coffee ribs in a burger—you couldn’t want for anything more.

12. Omakase Burger

A meal at Omakase Burger involves a lot of trust, after all, “omakase” means leave it up to the chef. Here, the menu is lean but if you do burger right, one good burger is all you’ll ever need.

Omakase Cheeseburger Set (from $20.90)

Their Omakase Cheeseburger Set (from $20.90) is straightforward as you can get. A juicy beef patty made out of a secret combination of four premium cuts for a better mouthfeel, melty American cheese, and a bouncy potato bun to finish it all off. Prepared to your preferred doneness, each element works in tandem with each other, ensuing each bite is pure bliss.

With meticulous sourcing of each of the components, Omakase Burger proves that you don’t need to add fancy embellishments to make good burgers.
