In the blink of an eye, the year is coming to an end, again. While I’m sure we all wished that 2021 had turned out better than it did, what better way to roll into 2022 than with bellies full of yummy goodness and zest? Here’s a list of 12 places you can make plans for a sumptuous dinner this New Year’s Eve.

1. Baskin Robbins

With outlets in over 50 countries, Baskin Robbins is a global household brand for ice cream. Indulge in sundaes like the Brownie Ala Mode ($10.50), which features two junior scoops of your desired flavour, brownie bits, diced almond and hot fudge sauce drizzled all over. Not only that, but the Banana Royale ($10.50) and the Chocolate Overload ($10.00) are highly popular combinations as well. Enjoy same-day delivery when you order in this New Year’s Eve and have a dessert party after dinner!

2. Beauty In The Pot

Nourish your soul with Beauty In The Pot’s flavourful soup bases like the Beauty Collagen Broth when you order the 4 Pax Set ($90.65).

Nothing screams family reunion like hotpot. Offering six different types of nourishing soup bases, Beauty In The Pot promises to deliver rich flavours with abundant benefits. For your New Year’s Eve dinner this year, try the 4 Pax Set ($90.65) which comes with a melody of sliced pork collar, pork meatballs, dried fish maw, drumstick mushrooms, black fungus, Chinese Cabbage and noodles. Or if you’re having guests over, upsize your feast by getting the 8 Pax Set instead. Save yourself the hassle of preparing everything and let them do the work for you when you order in.

3. ELIJAH Pies

Check out gorgeous dessert pies like Nutella Pie (from $45) and Wild Berry Lavender Pie (from $52) when you order from ELIJAH Pies.

If you love all things Instagram-worthy and delicious, chances are you have already heard about ELIJAH Pies. Since 2014, they have been dishing out pies that are a feast for both the eyes and taste buds. Their Nutella Pie (from $45), the one that started it all, is the perfect combination of dark chocolate and roasted hazelnuts. The Wild Berry Lavender Pie (from $52) is another crowd-favourite and so is the Matcha Latte Pie (from $52). With all that said, you’ll definitely want to order in these beautiful pies for a sweet finish to your New Year’s Eve dinner.

4. HJH Maimunah

Have a nasi ambeng feast with HJH Maimunah’s Original Ambeng Platter ($33) which comes with a wide variety of scrumptious dishes.

New Year’s Eve dinner is all about spending quality time with your loved ones, and HJH Maimunah Restaurant has just the perfect thing. Established in the 90s, they are a name synonymous with authentic traditional Malay and Indonesian cuisine. Their signature Original Ambeng Platter ($33) and Premium Ambeng Platter ($38) are huge sharing dishes that will certainly bring the family together around the dinner table. We definitely recommend making an early reservation so as to beat the crowd, as both their outlets are just a short, convenient walk away from MRT stations (Bugis and Paya Lebar).

I’m a firm believer that pizza is one of the most delicious party foods there is out there. Fortunately, Peperoni Pizzeria makes incredibly ginormous pizzas that go up to 21 inches wide; you can therefore simply choose the size that’s perfect for your party. While meat lovers will definitely appreciate their meaty Carne (from $24.60), you also can’t go wrong with a classic Margherita ($21.40), or Quattro Formaggi ($24.60). So order in some pizza for dinner this New Year’s Eve and countdown to 2022 with a pizza party!

6. Pu3 Restaurant

Pu3 Restaurant serves up traditional Malay cuisine. In particular, they specialise in nasi ambeng, which you can have a feast for 4 pax with the Dulang Ambeng Royal ($65), or 2 pax with the Dulang Ambeng Basic ($32). Not only that, but their Tahu Telor ($8.80) is also a popular side dish highly raved by returning customers. An institution like Roland Restaurant needs no introduction. Known as the creator of Chilli Crab in Singapore, they have been serving their signature Chilli Crabs ($98 for 2x500g) since 1956 when it was just an improvised recipe. Over the years, they’ve perfected their recipe and are now popular for other seafood dishes too. The restaurant has a typical old-school Chinese banquet setting that will certainly get you reminiscing the past. It’s also located right next to East Coast Park, so it’s definitely wise to make a reservation and get ahead of the potential evening crowds.

Warm your bellies with Sum Kee’s signature Curry Fish Head ($38) and other zi char favourites.
