If you’re a meat eater and the only time you intentionally had a meatless meal was when Impossible™ Foods launched in Singapore, I don’t blame you.

The vegetarian food scene in Singapore only became fast-growing in recent years, with more Singaporeans converting to vegetarianism or opting to eat more plant-based food due to health and environmental concerns.

But long before you started noticing  Impossible™ Meat dishes at semi-atas restaurants, these 11 vegetarian eateries in Singapore have been serving delicious plant-based food to customers. This 2021, discover vegetarian eateries that deliver to your home to welcome the new year and new phase!

1. A-One Green Signature

Hotplate Sesame Chicken Noodle ($12.90)

Many may recognise Green Signature from its founding company “A-One Group” that also owns A-One Claypot House and Hey Yummy. But more than just being a member of the group, Green Signature prides itself in being a vegetarian concept that was created to meet the rising demands of the vegetarian market and to cater to those with healthier eating habits.

At first glance, their menu would probably prompt you to think that they serve meat. Gong Bao Chicken & Cashew Nuts ($14.90), Deep Fried Prawns with Creamy Salted Egg ($14.90) and Hotplate Sesame Chicken Noodle ($12.90) are just some of the dishes that might give you a false impression of the restaurant. But don’t be fooled, all of their dishes are made with mock meat and most definitely super delicious!

2. Elemen

Wild Mushroom & White Truffle Pizza ($17.80)

Known for serving healthy and natural food, Elemen is a plant-based restaurant that promotes environmental sustainability. Here, they focus on incorporating both Asian and Western styles to create dishes that are creative and presentable. Instead of serving mock meat, the restaurant prepares other rich-in-protein items such as Kale Tofu with Wild Rice ($12.80) and King Oyster Chop with Egg Fried Rice ($12.80). The restaurant incorporates highly raved food trends into their dishes, as seen from their Truffle La Mian ($9.30) and Rendang Curry with Blue Pea Nasi Lemak ($9.30)—infused with blue pea flower extract to get a nice shade of blue rice. Add on a Cold Homemade Barley ($2.40) or Passion Fruit Kumquat ($2.80) for a perfect sweet companion. Time to hop on the green trend and get trufflin’

10. The Salad Shop

Take your pick from The Salad Shop’s variety of bases, toppings, and healthy options.

The Salad Shop is one of those places that nourishes the soul after a long week of work. I’d like to think this makes the perfect ‘reset meal’ after a weekend of binging junk food while catching up on my favourite Netflix series.

Their salad bowls come in 3 sizes, the Small Human Feed ($11), Vegman Feed ($13) and Human Feed ($15). Every size comes with 1 base, 1 dressing and 1 topping, so you can customise your bowl to your own liking. If you aren’t a fan of cold salads, they serve 2 variations of Hot Boxes too. For spicy food lovers, the Fire Box ($11.50) served with their signature chilli will be right up your alley. Otherwise, non-spicy food eaters might enjoy the J-Box ($11.50) featuring its lemon and garlic chicken.

11. Vegan Burg

Chilli Krab Burg ($11.90)

I know, can a vegan burger ever taste as good as a normal beef burger? At VeganBurg, they can. Sure, I was skeptical at first. However, that quickly changed once I had a bite of their winning burgers.

Their GMO-free plant protein patties mimic the texture of meat and let me tell you, I wasn’t missing a thing. Opt for one of the award-winning Chilli Krab Burg ($11.90). A yummy tribute to the local favourite, featuring a crunchy, gluten-free patty topped with a sweet and tangy chili crab sauce, romaine lettuce, coriander, finely shredded farm-fresh cabbage and a generous scoop of creamy vegan aioli. All meat-free.
