Nasi Lemak is a dish that certainly needs no introduction in Singapore. The rice, the sambal, and the fried chicken—such are the things that come to mind when I think of it. To me, nasi lemak also embodies the melting pot that is our society. The way different ingredients come together and blend perfectly reflects how Singaporeans live together in harmony. With a dish so befitting our ethos, it’s no wonder we Singaporeans can relate to and adore it so much. That said, here are 10 Nasi Lemak Delivery Spots In Singapore that you must try whether you’re Singaporean or not!

1. Mizzy Corner

It’s a well-known fact that Changi Village Hawker Centre is a hotspot for nasi lemak. And Mizzy Corner is one of those names that you’ll hear when it comes to the best nasi lemak in Singapore.

With a history dating all the way back to 1977, they’re a long-established brand with a loyal following.

Standard Dulang ($19.90 for 2 pax) with kembong fish, begedil & chicken wings

A packet of their Standard 1 Nasi Lemak ($4.80) comes with basmati rice, sambal chilli and an egg—all at an affordable price. Most importantly, it also comes with a piece of their signature side dish, the highly-raved chicken wing.

Think deep-fried chicken wings with excess crispy batter hanging off, and glistening white meat on the inside. I mean, need I say more?

2. Changi Nasi Lemak

These boxes of nasi lemak may look like those from CRAVE, but it’s from another long-established nasi lemak brand—Changi Nasi Lemak

Choose from their Nasi Lemak sets with chicken cutlet, fish fillet & more.

Unlike many nasi lemak places, they pride themselves on serving the Chinese-style nasi lemak, a la Qiji. In fact, they’re one of the pioneers of this version of nasi lemak, having started in the 1970s!

Spicy Thigh Cutlet (McSpicy-Inspired) Set Menu ($8.80)

If you’re a fan of McDonald’s McSpicy burger, the Spicy Thigh Cutlet (McSpicy-Inspired) Set Menu ($8.80) is for you. It’s one of their modern twists to the traditional dish. The star of this online-exclusive dish is definitely the McSpicy-inspired chicken thigh cutlet. It also comes with a crispy fish fillet as well as your usual nasi lemak ingredients, which include their Legendary Changi Chilli. Good nasi lemak? You bet.

3. Boon Lay Power Nasi Lemak

Some say Boon Lay Power Nasi Lemak is the crown jewel of the west. That said, they attract customers all over Singapore, especially now that they deliver islandwide.

Nasi Lemak Combo Set ($8.25)

Similar to other nasi lemak establishments, Boon Lay Power Nasi Lemak offers a powerful repertoire of ingredient combinations to choose from. That said, my go-to has always been their Nasi Lemak Selar Kunning Set ($4.40). With fried Kunning fish, this proves to be an OG combination.

What stands out in particular here, in my opinion, is their supremely aromatic coconut rice. I love how I can always taste the individual grains of rice which have a nice chew to them.

4. Ponggol Nasi Lemak

If you haven’t heard of Ponggol Nasi Lemak, you’ve probably been living under a rock. With multiple outlets island-wide, this famous establishment has been many Singaporeans’ go-to spot for nasi lemak and nasi lemak delivery.

Those of you who love chicken wings will definitely enjoy their Set Menu 3 (Double Chicken Wing Set) ($7.80). Double the chicken wing, double the joy.

Fun fact: they make their coconut with freshly-squeezed coconut juice instead of pasteurised coconut milk. Hence, you can be sure that it’s of the best quality!

5. The Coconut Club

Trust me when I say The Coconut Club is a club that you definitely want to be a part of. These folks treat their nasi lemak very seriously, with a touch of modernity, and offers up strong contenders when it comes to the best nasi lemak in Singapore.

[smartslider3 slider=”150″]

The Coconut Club serves up a variety of nasi lemak dishes, each featuring a different combination of ingredients. That said, you won’t go wrong with their Chicken Leg Set ($16.30).

It comes with a humongous fried chicken leg, as well as the quintessential ikan bilis, sambal chilli and fried egg. Not forgetting their ultra-fragrant coconut rice too, which they spent two years sourcing the world’s best coconuts for.

6. Colonial Club

Colonial Club is a British-inspired restaurant located in the hustle and bustle of Paragon Shopping Centre. They specialise in iconic Singaporean dishes, but with a uniquely British twist!

The Colonial Club Signature Nasi Lemak Tower ($16.90) is a nasi lemak you don’t want to miss. True to its name, the dish comes with an intriguing tower of ingredients, but that’s not all.

They’ve also flavoured the rice with butterfly pea flowers, which give it a gorgeous blue hue. Definitely perfect for the ‘gram, if you ask me.

7. Grandma’s

Nothing hits the spot like grandma’s homecooked meals. So if you’re ever craving a taste of home, or nasi lemak in particular, you can bet Grandma’s definitely the place to go.

[smartslider3 slider=”151″]

Signature Grandma’s Nasi Lemak ($13.80), no prizes for guessing, is Grandma’s signature dish.

They serve it with a generous portion of Grandma’s nostalgic curry chicken that’ll surely remind you of your childhood comfort food. Pair it with their virgin coconut milk-infused rice and it’ll warm the cockles of your heart.

8. Penang Culture

Penang, Malaysia is a foodie destination that’s on my travel bucket list. However, if you’re stuck at home like me, then Penang Culture is probably the closest we can get to Penang.

Premium Nasi Lemak ($20)

That said, they serve up a whopping good Premium Nasi Lemak ($20) that’s sure to satisfy those cravings of yours.

In addition to a chicken drumstick penyet, there’s also sambal prawns to spice things up. Make no mistake, it’s fit for a king.

9. Istimewa Nasi Padang

Istimewa Nasi Padang is a name synonymous to the Bukit Merah area. The husband and wife team has been lovingly serving residents, taxi drivers and foodies for over 30 years.

Nasi Lemak (from $4)

While they’re famous for nasi padang, Istimewa serves up a Nasi Lemak (from $4) wrapped in a banana leaf, which is super rare these days. Choose from Fish, Chicken, or a trio of Fish, Chicken, and Otah. With the old-school banana leaf wrapping, this traditional nasi lemak definitely tastes extra fragrant and nostalgic.

Be sure to place your nasi lemak delivery order early, though, as these little gems sell out extremely quickly!

10. Warung Ijo

Not many of us have probably tried vegetarian nasi lemak, but Warung Ijo proves that it can taste as good! The Indonesian restaurant prides itself on serving vegetarian dishes, most of which are also vegan-friendly.

Their Nasi Lemak Rendang (from $11.90) features a unique take on rendang. They use Lion’s Mane mushrooms which have an unbelievable meaty texture. Not only that, but they’re also incredibly healthful, which is why they’re so popular in Asian cuisines.

Now, who says nasi lemak can’t be healthy?

It baffles me that a traditional dish like nasi lemak can have so many variations. It goes to show how diverse and vibrant Singapore’s food culture is.
